Mcstud

My friends let me introduce you to McKade (mcstud). Him and I met in 7th grade---basically  he's been one of my really good friends for a long time. Two years ago I had to say goodbye to this fellow as he went and served a mission in Columbus, Ohio.
Don't mind my puffy eyes...haha
You see having this dude by my side all through Junior High and High School, well he was there for it all. Plus, little did I know he was and is a huge blessing in my life. What I mean when I say "he was there for everything"is.....you know that weird stage of braces, of being little weird seventh graders, being big bad seniors who think we know everything, to those long talks in his truck, betos runs, the nappy head to a mullet.. Basically with 6 years of friendship..I have lots and lots of memories with him. :)

When he got his mission call I never thought he would actually leave. Or any of my friends leave. He was the first one to go, but the first one to be back. :) I would like to share with you guys what I have learned about his experience spreading the gospel, which we both love. (and just what I have always looked up to him for)
  • The Atonement not only saves us, but it enables us. I have heard it said like that before, but to this day I remember where I was when he sent that email and it was exactly what I needed.
  • If we want a testimony or to become our better selves all we need to do is diligently serve thee and try our best. (same as first one)
  • Families can be and our eternal. With that...Love is powerful. Mckade has a brother who has down syndrome, but is the sweetest thing ever. Seeing their relationship as brothers and as a family strengthens me. I know Mckade missed his brother a lot and I am so happy that he served.
  • My favorite thing he said in his homecoming...is he had a person say that he was asked one time if his mission was worth it. The man looked at his family and said for them, yes it was worth it. So then Mckade went on to say, that I know my mission was worth it, but I can't wait to have a family and tell them that it was worth it. I know I didn't say this exactly how he did, but it was so strong when he said it.
Mckade is now headed to BYU and I know he will continue to do many great things. I am so thankful for the memories that we have together and I have missed him. But I thank him for his friendship over thee years and well Mckade... "Love you,"..."ok"

We were so excited to see him!!

The Fremont High School crew. Basically like 2/3 of these folks either have served a mission or are on a mission!
Can't get enough of how little all my friends are. haha
Right before the nappy head became a mullet

Welcome home Mcstud!
